No, you are NOT required to take the assessment examination if you have at least 2 years of full-time study from an accredited college or university with a 2.0+ GPA, or an Associate's Degree or higher. No, having a criminal record will not bar you from the program. However, it may prevent you from completing requirements such as obtaining a Live Scan Fingerprinting and from becoming certified. The NREMT may deny certification for felony convictions. Contact the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) for details.
Yes, we are authorized by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) to conduct California EMT Courses. Our training number is: 17-220.
Yes. As an EMS Training Program approved by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA), we meet NREMT requirements. The course requires 80% or better on written and practical exams. After completing the course, you can sit for the NREMT Computer Based Examination.
California requires current NREMT certification and a CA EMSA-approved EMT Refresher course. Our EMT Refresher course meets this requirement. Otherwise, register for our full EMT Class.
Take our 172-hour state-approved EMT course. After passing exams, test for the NREMT Examination, then apply for California state certification. Your instructor and program director will guide you throughout.
Generally, yes. After obtaining NREMT and California certification, use the NREMT Reciprocity Map to find requirements for other states.
The course is 172 total hours: didactic instruction, practical exams, clinical rotations, and vehicular rotations. It follows National EMS Education Standards and meets CA EMSA requirements.
The passing score is 80%. You may take the final exam up to 3 times. If you must retake the course, a discounted rate is available. Students who score below 80% on 3 non-final exams may be dismissed.
